From a home project to an official platform on WhatsApp
Bot do Senpai is a WhatsApp automation platform created in 2020 by Brazilian entrepreneur Marcelo Pinho. The project was born simply: the difficulty of accessing a sticker bot for personal use in groups led to the decision to create his own solution.
Without prior programming knowledge, Marcelo started development in a self-taught way, studying content in different languages and adapting existing projects. The first version ran on a home computer with limited resources and remained active mainly during the early morning hours.
What started as a personal-use solution quickly spread, reaching users from different countries and becoming a tool used by WhatsApp communities in various regions.

Organic Growth and Viralization
After spontaneous promotion on social media, especially on Twitter (X) and TikTok, the bot scaled organically. The proposal to allow automated sticker creation drew attention and the system began to be widely used in WhatsApp groups.
Various content published by users on these platforms reached thousands of views, helping to boost the bot's popularity among online communities.
With the increase in usage volume, the accelerated growth and the limitations of integrations available at the time resulted in instabilities and platform bans, leading the project through periods of downtime.
Social Media Records
Much of the initial popularization of Bot do Senpai can be seen in posts still available on social media. Videos and mentions about the bot can be found publicly on Twitter (X) and TikTok by searching terms like "sticker bot" or "WhatsApp sticker bot", especially in content published between 2020 and 2023, when the project had its biggest viralization peak.
In many cases, users directly mentioned the @botdosenpai profile, helping to boost the project's visibility on the platforms.
In the initial phase of the project, the bot used a different phone number than the current one — later deactivated after platform bans — and the visual identity included the image of a white cat.
These records help document the organic growth of the project on social media.
The Turnaround: Official Structure and Professionalization
In 2025, Bot do Senpai returned with a new structure. The project was formalized with a CNPJ and started operating using the WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API), adopting an official and structured base.
Currently, the infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring scalability, stability and capacity to handle thousands of daily interactions.
The model adopted a sustainable structure, combining a limited free version with accessible paid plans.

Online Presence
The project's official website, botdosenpai.com, receives an average of between 20 thousand and 30 thousand monthly visits, from users in different countries.
Although access is international, Brazil represents the largest share of the audience, reflecting the project's origin and the strong presence of the Brazilian community in the use of stickers within WhatsApp.
The daily average reaches approximately 400 unique visitors per day.
